Caroline is a native of Belfast but moved to the North West when she completed her undergraduate degree at University of Ulster, Magee Campus, graduating in 2005 with First Class Honours.

Thereafter she spent a year travelling through Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America.

Upon her return to Northern Ireland she completed her postgraduate Masters LLM in Human Rights and Criminal Justice at Queens University Belfast.

In 2007 she entered the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Belfast and commenced her apprenticeship with WB Thompson & Co. She was admitted the Roll of Solicitors in September 2009.
